Description
The left side of Shiva is supposed to be feminine, called ” Ida” and the right side masculine, called “Pingala”. All symbols of the shiva, including the trishul indicates this duality. I wanted to explore the color duality as well, pairing the red hues with the opposite purple, the gold-silver, fire-ice, the cool-warm nature of feminine-masculine The form of the centre itself, came about on its own. I painted black gesso on the canvas on shivrathri night, and this form emerged from the drying pattern. 🙂 I immediately took a brush and traced it. So its kind of a divine intervention, you might say:)
