Very happy with the first one of my new series of women sitting without productivity. A lot of questions arise with this subject, which you must ask of yourself. (Meant for women, while it’s also good for men to ask this of the unpaid labour of women around them)
Some are :
1. Do women dress up and present themselves neatly because they serve at someone’s pleasure, including their own conditioning?
2. The colors of the skin, why don’t we see dark skinned women, in non productive poses in art? Is it because the melanin is relegated to productive work?
3. Can women sit simply? Is it only valid if they rest from some productive work?
4. What does “being busy” provide women?
Technically I want to churn out a bunch of similar sized paintings with womxn doing nothing. Quick and hasty brush strokes and an interesting wall-like backgrounds that merge with the subject because I think it’s meaningful somehow. Also focusing on hands relaxed. A bit bigger and accentuated. Looking forward to more adventures in this series. Looking forward to your comments.

It’s about time we get used to these visuals, isn’t it?
