Androgynous

You will find ardhanareeshwaras hidden through out the painting!

Found some surprise Ardhanareeshwaras that I didn’t plan! “Androgynous”, Acrylic on Unstretched Canvas, 2 by 3 feet.

This painting is my second big one in the series I am working on at #rishikeshcreativeconfluence

The inspiration for the painting came from reading about many trees that have both male and female parts, and self-pollinate.
That made me see #ardhanarishvara, an androgynous form of Siva and Shakti, in all the glorious greenery I have around me at #Rishikesh. You will find Camaflouged Ardhanareeshwaras in the greenery, and I’ve used subtle references to the female #yoni waterfall, inspired by #Ganga, unabashedly flowing, into a #lingam that’s placed below, suggesting the divine union that’s all around us, happening every second.

Nature is Androgynous, Nature is a confluence. .
